Tests are a fact of life when you are in HIGH school.
Tests are used to measure what you have learned or how your skills have progressed. You may also need to pass certain tests to graduate or to get into college. Although tests are not always fun, they do not have to be torture. Just be sure to review everything you've been working on over the past few days or weeks. If you have had trouble understanding important concepts in class, it is best to talk to your teacher ahead of time, before the test.
Know where to start.
It helps to have a clear plan. Make a list of things you'll need to do in order to successfully prepare for a test. It is important to prioritize. Practice numbering items on your "to-do" list in the order they need to be accomplished. Before a test you may also want to:
- Review your notes paying close attention to any material you may have highlighted in class.
- Go over quizzes and homework from the same unit. Look up answers to problems or questions you got wrong.
- Reread chapter summaries in your textbooks. Keep track of things you need to review.
- Also, join or start a study group. Share notes and quiz each other on test information.
be aware of progress report & report card dates.
Frequently check Memorial High School's website for important dates especially when it comes to the distribution of progress reports and report cards
